The beginning

The Lord Bernand de Canet built his Chateau on this site and gave his name to the surrounding land.

1126

The Lemstra- Bake Family

881 years later Victoria and Floris with their children Oliver and Charlotte landed at Chateau Canet in pursuit of their dream to build a home where they could share their passion for wine and hospitality.

2007

In pursuit of Excellence

A state-of-the-art cellar addition, included a bottling line, ensuring a heritage of excellence for the Estate.

2013

Domaine d'O

Oliver, a young man with winemaking in his blood develops his passion, with 12 hectares in Limoux Domaine D’O is born.

2017

A touch of Elegance

Beautiful Charlotte inspires the creation of her own selection of vintage wines under the name Fleur de Charlotte.

2018

Our Footprint

The creation of our three pillars of sustainability from the vine to the responsible consumption of our wines.

VICTORIA LEMSTRA-BAKE

Victoria loves to make people feel “at home on holiday” and every occasion a moment to treasure. Her warm welcome and genuine sense of hospitality will ensure you have a memorable stay at Chateau Canet.

EMILIE DIAS

While the rest of us are busy in the vineyards, the cellar, the cottages or organizing an event or away at an export market , Emilie, our accountant, manages the books and makes sure the all numbers add up.

DAVID PINTO

David joined the Chateau Canet team in 2012 and through hard work has grown to become our production manager. He is the” hands on” man on our bottling line; a sophisticated machine that he manages with delicacy and efficiency.

FLORIS LEMSTRA

On any given day, Floris can be found blending wine in the cellar, behind his desk in the office, meeting his importer in Tokyo, London or Montreal or uncorking bottles for a tasting somewhere in the world.

SANDRINE GAMBLIN

Sandrine joined the team as our commercial assistant and makes sure that on the day of bottling we have all the dry goods we need, bottles, corks, labels… She is the go-to person for all our export clients from around the world!

COLETTE CAUCHOIS

Colette is the cheerful face you will see at the end of the bottling line. She checks every bottle before safely packaging them away ready to be sent around the world.

NATHALIE SANCHEZ

Nathalie, looks after the daily management of the Domain. As an oenologist, Nathalie has been making wine at Chateau Canet since 2013 and part of the winemaking team, along with Floris and Pierre, she adds a touch of elegance to our wines.

LILA BENHAMMOUDA

Lila is our always smiling housekeeper who ensures the comfort and cleanliness of our holiday cottages. Her attention to detail will not go unnoticed and she is sure to make your gite feel like home during your stay at Canet!

GILLES SAGNES

Gilles joined Château Canet in 2018, bringing valuable experience to our cellar. He looks after the wines on a day-to-day basis and makes sure they are ready for bottling when the moment arrives.

PIERRE ESTIVAL

Pierre manages daily operations between the vineyard, the cellar and the bottling line. As a certified ‘oenologue’ he joins Nathalie and Floris as the masterminds behind the Chateau Canet wines.

JEAN-VINCENT DAUTREY

Maintenance on an old place like Chateau Canet is a never-ending story. You add to that all the plans and ideas for improvements, and you have the busiest job on the Domain. Jean-Vincent keeps Chateau Canet always functioning and looking good!

FREDDY DELVAL

Freddy, the newest member of the Chateau Canet team is ready to tend the vines comes rain or shine. He is most comfortable behind the steering wheel of a tractor!
